Album: SMILE! :D by Porter Robinson
This album is probably why I've been in such an emo state lately… but it’s just too damn good to stop. It’s all I’ve been listening to. That and Charm by Clairo. This album combines themes of nostalgia; bridging the gap between your old self and your present self; falling in love; missing your family; feeling like you’re on top of the world; wanting to feel pretty; and what the fuck happiness is. I only have one question for you Porter Robinson — WHAT did you PUT in this ALBUM??? It’s a 10/10 for me. This lyric never fails to take my breath away: “I got my teeth fixed, and I regret it so much, man. Like I can’t… I can’t get the teeth my mom gave me back in my mouth.” - Kitsune Maison Freestyle
Podcast Episode: The Anxious Generation - If Books Could Kill
My husbands, Michael and Peter, are at it again. This discussion about the book "The Anxious Generation” by Jonathan Haidt is very nuanced and digs deeper into the MASSIVE and never-ending conversation about youth and growing up in the technology age. I’m SICK of older people saying that young people are more anxious or poisoned by social media. Maybe we are, but it’s more complex than just that. This episode is truly worth a listen — you will not regret it.
Public Figure: Sanrio’s Bonbonribbon
I mean… just look at her. I can’t stop thinking about her. This is what the Sanrio fandom page says about her:
“Bonbonribbon (ぼんぼんりぼん, Bonbon ribon) is a pink girl rabbit Sanrio character who debuted in 2012. She wears a bow on her head and in some places of her body, including her left paw, ears, right feet and tail. She is a very fashionable girl who likes to sing and dance. Her mother is a fashion designer and she designed the ribbon on her head, which is her charm point. She dreams of becoming a fashion designer, just like her mother.”
SHE IS A VERY FASHIONABLE GIRL WHO LIKES TO SING AND DANCE. Um, that sounds… very demure, very mindful to me.
Thing: Living in a Fictional World (aka your latest Pinterest Board)
I cannot be stopped… I LOVE a mood board. I’ve been on a huge fantasy realm kick because hey, I’m STILL only reading Romantasy right now. I will not apologize for that. Want to join me? Here’s what I’ve been posting on my Trash weblog Pinterest board. It’s a lot of medieval imagery. I don’t know, it just tickles my brain in the best way. I want to be clear that I do NOT wish I actually lived in medieval times — that would be delusional. I might be obsessive, but I’m not delusional. I promise.
